Do We Pretend or Do We Pray?

Image
<<The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.>> (Matthew 23: 2-3)         Do we pray for applause, do we praise for recognition?. Do we preach to get "uhm-uhms" or "yesses!" or "Amen!" or "Preach!" Do we preach or serve in our communities or "volunteer" for standing ovations? Do we publish Christian posts, blogs, YouTube videos, sermons, vlogs and so on to satisfy our fleshly desires? Are we seeking popularity? Do we wanna be on stage? Likes? Followers? "clap-claps"? Human praise?        In the book of John, Chapter 12, the leaders of the Jews acted with hypocrisy <<For they loved human praise more than praise from God.>> John 12:43. The bible warns us against hypocrisy that is prevalent in the Christian community, among both leaders and f...

True Life is Found In Jesus Christ

Image
<<For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.>> Matthew 16:25         Life is the gift of being and existing, granted by the God the Universe. It can also be defined as vitality, vigor, presence or existence. When Jesus says in John 14:6 that He is <<the way and the truth and the life>>, He implies that in Him alone can our deepest longings be met. Our spiritual needs, our physical needs, emotional, mental, social desires and hopes can only be satisfied by our Lord Jesus-Christ. No food will ultimately make us happy. No friends will fill our love tank. Nobody, nothing can fill our cups and needs as Jesus. This life is temporary and for this reason must be lived in and for God alone! This life is a preparation stage to our calling to be holy.         If one lives only to store up riches, material things, to get likes and followers, to satisfy their worldl...

The Fear of God or the fear of men

Image
<<Although he wanted to kill him, he feared the people for they regarded him as a prophet.>> Matthew 14:5      Do we fear God or would we die to please men? Who guides our thought processes and actions? Is our primary motivation to please God or to please men? A fear of human beings is correlated to a lack of faith and belief in our Savior Jesus-Christ Who died for us. The fear of men can be defined as the surrendering to thoughtless actions due to the worry or anxiety that stems from people's opinions. << Without faith, it is impossible to please God.>> Hebrews 11:6      The fear of men leads to depression, because it paralyzes and atrophies muscles, it tightens the body and makes all parts and organs stringent. If not treated, it would ultimately lead to destruction of the body, the Body of Christ specifically. <<The King was distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests who were present, he ordered tha...

People's Opinions

Image
<< A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.>> Matthew 13:54-58        People have a tendency to set judgement on their counterparts. It is much easier to "look at the speck in your brother's eye" (Matthew 7:5), to "throw the first stone" (John 8:7), or more commonly to find faults in the person sitting right next to me, while believing ourselves blameless and trustworthy. << And He also told this parable to some people who trusted themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt.>> Luke 18:9       Self-righteousness separates us from God. It is the sin of convincing ourselves to be pure and clean, in contrast to our fellow brothers and sisters. Self-righteousness is a form of idolatry, that ALL BELIEVER should stray away from. Only in God is the authority to judge humanity, not even our own selves. So who are we to to label our brothers and sisters in Chri...

Obedience to God

Image
Partial obedience is not obedience to God. We must fully obey and submit to the guidance and direction of the Lord our Father. <<Then the LORD said to Moses, "Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, 'I will give it to your descendants.'">> Exodus 33:1        No matter where God sends us, we must go, regardless of our feelings, regardless of our comfort. God loves us and everything He plans for us is GOOD . Who are we to deem our plans more relevant than God's? We must be positioned where our all-knowing Father places us and wants us to be. Because that is where our harvest is abundant and plentiful. That is where our Father surrounds us with the Peace that surpasses all understanding. That is where our portion lies and where we can have an impact for the Kingdom of Heaven!      <<Go up to ...

God's Restoration

Image
"The Glory of This Present House Will Be Greater than the Glory of the Former House, " says the Lord Almighty . Haggai 2:9           Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and as temples, they should be treated as such. The Lord declares that He will bless our bodies in a very short moment, even more than they used to be blessed. God not only wants to bless and heal our bodies, but He  can  bless them exceedingly, abundantly, because all the riches and every good thing come from the Lord. The money is His, and the Gold is His.       To get the glory from God, we must first follow Him, secondly honor and glorify  Him, and finally humble ourselves before Him. Because it is in offering our weaknesses to the Lord that His Power intervenes with perfection. Look at King David who was a misfit and a nobody even in his own family; look at Joseph who was sold as a slave by his very brothers, and made second in comm...
