Obedience to God
Partial obedience is not obedience to God. We must fully obey and submit to the guidance and direction of the Lord our Father.
<<Then the LORD said to Moses, "Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, 'I will give it to your descendants.'">> Exodus 33:1
No matter where God sends us, we must go, regardless of our feelings, regardless of our comfort. God loves us and everything He plans for us is GOOD. Who are we to deem our plans more relevant than God's? We must be positioned where our all-knowing Father places us and wants us to be. Because that is where our harvest is abundant and plentiful. That is where our Father surrounds us with the Peace that surpasses all understanding. That is where our portion lies and where we can have an impact for the Kingdom of Heaven!
<<Go up to the land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people and I might destroy you on the way>> Exodus 33:3
The Lord could not walk with the children of Israel because they were stiff-necked, hard-hearted and slow to obey. This passage shows us that the Lord cannot stand our disobedience to Him. He is good and merciful, however He cannot walk closely to us, when we are tense and slow to obey! As firm believers of the Love of Jesus-Christ for us, we must surrender all areas of our lives to the Lord. God wants to redeem His children, but because of our stiff-neckedness He cannot walk closely with us. Praise to our Lord Jesus-Christ Who died for our sins, so that we may appear clean to the Father Who loves us.
The most helpful way to ensure we are obeying the Father is to follow the Ten Commandments of God.
<<The LORD said to Moses, "Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.">> Exodus 34:1
God speaks to us His children, through Moses using the Ten Commandments.
<<Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.>> Exodus 34:14
Who are we worshiping in our daily lives? Are we worshiping the opinions of others? Are we worshiping our parents, are we worshiping our comfort zones? Are we worshiping our own perspectives? Are we worshiping our Church leaders?
GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD and to Him alone is our obedience due.
I remember God pruning me of everything I thought would satisfy me and made an idol of. God pruned me of the compliments of people (family, friends, and acquaintances,...), a job (financial dependency), my self-confidence, my looks (lost so much weight, not feeling pretty enough,...), my influence on people, people's attention, self-righteousness, to remind me that He alone is God. As I have gone through this season of pruning, I have learned that only God can satisfy me. We cannot serve two masters: God and Man. Human beings are as frail as breath and their opinions are so weak and irrelevant (unless they are spirit-led). Seek God, <<commit your plans to the Lord and they will be established.>> (Proverbs 16:3). Only God's opinion, word and purpose matter. Only GOD!!! GOD IS VERY JEALOUS.
God wants us to sit at His feet and seek Him! Works and faith go alongside ALWAYS.-
<<Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.>> Exodus 23:12
Finally brothers and sisters, spending time with our Lord with discipline, obeying His commands makes us radiant and shine for His Glory!
<< When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD.>> Exodus 34:29
The more we honor God, the more He will bless us. ( Confessions Chapel: Basilica of the National Shrine).
Dear God, thank You for this new day. You gave us breath to breathe so we want to make sure we are giving you the Glory. We ask for Your forgiveness as we have not obeyed You in all things and have not completely surrendered to You. Father, please give us wisdom to know Your will, but mostly may Your Spirit raise our impetus, strength and courage to obey You in All Things. O Lord, we trust in You and You alone. And when we are weak, Lord, then You are strong. I pray that You cover my brothers and sisters with Your precious Blood and that You give them a sense of godly confidence and purpose. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen! ♡
