The Fear of God or the fear of men

<<Although he wanted to kill him, he feared the people for they regarded him as a prophet.>> Matthew 14:5

     Do we fear God or would we die to please men? Who guides our thought processes and actions? Is our primary motivation to please God or to please men? A fear of human beings is correlated to a lack of faith and belief in our Savior Jesus-Christ Who died for us. The fear of men can be defined as the surrendering to thoughtless actions due to the worry or anxiety that stems from people's opinions.

<< Without faith, it is impossible to please God.>> Hebrews 11:6

     The fear of men leads to depression, because it paralyzes and atrophies muscles, it tightens the body and makes all parts and organs stringent. If not treated, it would ultimately lead to destruction of the body, the Body of Christ specifically.

<<The King was distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests who were present, he ordered that it be given, and he had John beheaded in prison.>> Matthew 14:1

     The Word of God is the healing oil for the fear of men. Jesus said in John 8:32 that <<the truth will set you free.>> In the book of John, Jesus teaches us that only by reading or submitting to the Word of God, will believers or humans in general be set free.

     The Fear of God is the preeminent way to obtain freedom to pursue the mission and goals that the Lord has reserved for us. The fear of the Lord gives us direction, reassurance, and mercy. There is unshakable power in the fear of the Lord. The Fear of the Lord is a balm to rotten bones. The fear of the Lord has a redemptive power, as it delivers us from our broken past.

<<The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.>> Proverbs 14:27

Fear of the Lord: Reverence to God. Awe, obedience and respect due to all God's precepts.

         I remember I was always a people-pleaser at some time in my life. I was willing to do ANYTHING to make people happy. I would dress a certain way (or do my hair a certain way) just to ensure compliments. When I received a compliment, I would stick to whatever gesture was complimented and made sure that nothing would derive or stray away from it. I would tell people what I thought they would love hearing (not necessarily the truth,...) I would give compliments to receive them back, I was enslaved and in bondage so much that I lost sight of my own needs and personality. I lost my whole self in the process. 

<< But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.>> 1 Peter 2:9

          Now, ain't nobody got time for that!! Who's going to waste time and energy trying to satisfy human beings who are as frail as breath just for the sake of pleasing people? We human beings are weak and unreliable! My opinion today will be completely opposite tomorrow. Why is Julia the world's most beautiful woman today but last year Tasha was??? Come on now, did Julia regenerate herself in a more beautiful way?

            My dear brothers and sisters, let us refocus our attention to the things that matter and ignore the distractions of this world. Let us re-center our minds to the One Who died for us. Fear of men is a waste of time and energy. Fear of God is freedom & Peace. 

You are loved by our Father!

         Dear Lord, thank You for raising our awareness in the area of "the fear of men" that we tend to neglect. Thank You that You love us so much that You want us to be free. I bring to You all Your Children who are in bondage, enslaved by people's opinions, so that You deliver them from all these ties and the origins of these ties, and that You reveal Your Son to them, to bring them Worth, Peace and inner Joy. Let all Your children fear You alone Father and glorify You in all things! In Jesus Name, we pray! Amen.
