Do We Pretend or Do We Pray?

Image result for people who pretend

<<The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.>> (Matthew 23: 2-3)

Do we pray for applause, do we praise for recognition?. Do we preach to get "uhm-uhms" or "yesses!" or "Amen!" or "Preach!" Do we preach or serve in our communities or "volunteer" for standing ovations? Do we publish Christian posts, blogs, YouTube videos, sermons, vlogs and so on to satisfy our fleshly desires? Are we seeking popularity? Do we wanna be on stage? Likes? Followers? "clap-claps"? Human praise?

In the book of John, Chapter 12, the leaders of the Jews acted with hypocrisy <<For they loved human praise more than praise from God.>> John 12:43. The bible warns us against hypocrisy that is prevalent in the Christian community, among both leaders and followers. Brothers and sisters, we are not to pray just to impress anyone but to serve and glorify the One Who gives us daily breath. The One Who shines His light and Love upon us. The One Who gave His very life for our salvation. We are to pray to honor the Father, to magnify the Son and to acknowledge the Holy Spirit in all that we do, in all aspects of our lives. The One Who has plans for us, "plans to prosper you and not harm you; plans to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11).We are to revere the One Who inundates us with the Peace that surpasses all understanding. It is all about God and nothing about us.

I do not need a thousand followers in order to be successful- and you don't either. I do not need a "Preach" or "Amen" to feel validated or important. Jesus is the One Who validates because He is the One Who created. The manufacturer knows when the product acts as intended because he made the product before anyone ever heard of it. So when we kneel down or lift hands, let us be careful not to seek fellowship attention, but to seek the One Who increases or decreases our influence.

I have tried my best to satisfy, serve, please, consecrate myself, devote my time for human beings, but it always failed, I always came up emptier than I came in. We definitely are to serve, volunteer , and devote our time for our fellow Christians and unbelievers, but this should be for the Glory of God, alone! Because He alone is conditioned to receive all Glory and Honor. And He alone deserves the praise. We are simply vessels that He uses and made for His glory and not ours. Only the servant will be honored along with God for "those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted." Let us pray to give Glory, not to be given the glory.

Love,

CAL

Dear Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we give You all the Glory. We pour out our praise to You. We are deeply sorry and implore your forgiveness, for all the times that we have let our fleshly desires run our thoughts and actions, and have "glorified" ourselves. We acknowledge that YOU ALONE deserve the Glory in all things. We are nothing and You are everything. Lord You are incomparable. You have no rival, no equal, now and forever God You reign. Yours is the honor, the Glory & Praise, forever and ever. Please let us always recognize and accept our lowliness before You and help us be good servants and stewards of Your gifts.

In Jesus Name,
Amen! 💓
