The Plans of God In Our Lives

<< This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." >>
Jeremiah 29: 10-11

a) Sufferings precede blessings

For God's decrees to manifest, it is necessary to develop patience, endurance and maturity. Would a mother give a check of a hundred thousand dollars to her child? Absolutely not! The immature child would destroy the check or would fill himself up with all kinds of candies. His lack of knowledge would lead him to disqualify the value of this precious gift and wipe it out. To be made worthy of his mother's gift, the child must mature and develop his intellect and view of the world. Once his line of vision has been enlarged, and after being fashioned by the Potter through spiritual tests and trials, the mature son is not only worthy but also equipped to benefit and grow his mother's gift. The LORD therefore uses our daily tests and trials, whether large or small, to equip us suitably in order to receive the blessings and promises He has prepared for His anointed ones.

b) The LORD speaks to us and is involved in all our actions, all the days of our lives

On the tenth verse of our passage, the LORD shows Himself continually present in our lives. The children of the LORD- those who fear the LORD- can speak with our Heavenly Father about all matters and areas of our lives. He is omnipresent and omnipotent, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He operates in His time and His timing is always perfect. The LORD is open to all conversations. He is interested in the slightest details of our lives.

c) The plans of the Lord are very good and favorable

The LORD only desires good things for His children. What father would offer a sword to his newborn?? Christians have a tendency to weaken and lose hope when events are not manifested according to their preconceived intents. However, we must recognize that "all things work together for the good of those who love the LORD," because the LORD only has thoughts of happiness and prosperity towards his children. For this reason, all our actions, lives, our very breath must glorify the LORD and sing the praises of our Father Most-High.

Thank You Father for the plans that You have for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Thank You for caring about our future more than we do ourselves! God You are so Good and all Your plans are good. Thank You for spreading hope in the most hopeless times of our lives. Without You Lord, we are nothing and we implore your forgiveness for the times we are discouraged, discontent and complain. We receive your Word in Jeremiah 29:11 and implore a shift of perspective and a positive outlook on life in general, so that we are completely free from all anxious thoughts or depression. In this, we will know that You rejoice over us O LORD, for You do not let our enemy shout in triumph over us (Psalm 41:12). In Jesus' Mighty Name we pray. Amen
